History

The first entertainers worked off the back of a semi trailer and the sound gear was supplied by Hughie Stone. The second year the bash was moved to the May Day Long weekend and even though three inches of rain prior to the event dampened the group somewhat, several hundred people still showed up. The volunteers knew that they were onto something special and have built this festival into what we see today. Lionel Moore from Lionel Moore Trailers also saw the potential and wanted to help out so he has been our major sponsor ever since. The stage was built and the rest as they say is history in the making.

We have had some major stars perform on our bush stage, including Kasey Chambers, Adam Brand, and Josh Arnold. In 2003 we made a move to support the Independent artists and guests included Michael Bryers, Gemma Doyle and Bush Balladeers, Double Decker Dave and Sharon Heaslip. The grounds have been improved substantially and it now boasts new amenities, a great shower block and electricity is now fully supplied. The small committee could not have done what they have accomplished without the help of our local Pittsworth Shire Council, which have given us their full support. The local Fire Brigade were the main beneficiary of the funds raised and in 2002 they were presented with a new fire truck. Almost $15,000 has been donated to the Bush Fire Brigade since the Broxburn Bash began and the improvements have been made possible with the monies raised. The Pittsworth Lions club and Rotary Club are now the main beneficiaries.
